Papers, [ca.1842]-1928.

The papers of Anna Gayle Fry consist of correspondence between family and friends from the 1840s to the 1920s. Most of this correspondence pertains to family matters. Materials relating to the history of Dallas County and Cahaba, gathered by Mrs. Fry, as well as newspaper clippings about local history and Civil War veterans, poems, and articles about life in Dallas County are included. There is also a photograph of Mrs. Mary Arthur English.

From a properous Dallas County family, Anna Gayle lived most of her life in Selma, Alabama. She resided in Galveston, Texas, during her marriage to Dr. Joseph Talbot Fry, but returned to Selma after his death.
